Do you think you will earn more money then your parents?

In actual figures, yes. In nominal terms, no way. The dollar is weakening more and more everyday to make sure our economy doesn't crash in 15 years, but it isn't compensating enough. Then, there's the matter of how social security, Medicare, and Treasury Bonds are going to have to be paid off which means higher interest rates and higher corporate taxes and less purchasing power to me.

Unless our generation decides to make more personal investments in assets, collectively balances its labor supply offers, stops consuming so impulsively, and can somehow maintain the middle class instead of seeping away into the lower-middle class, we're going to be in a lot of trouble.

I already have.

I think I like America!

I have been here 20 years, and have already earned (or at least been paid!) about 5 times more than they earned in their entire working lifetimes!

oh boy...

My husband does. My husband is a craftsman building boats and he works very hard but he gets paid very well. His parents owned several business' that all failed and now we are doing much better than they ever did. Sad for them.

sure. America is getting better and better every year. As long as you work hard, you should have a better life than your parents. All of the low skilled low pay jobs are going over seas and that leaves us with better paying jobs in the US (think about it, everyone is complaining that customer service jobs are going overseas, yet our unemployement is very low. They are being replaced by higher paying jobs!!)

yes, if we have the potential in looking for a job, and if we are not lazy to work more than the required time they allowed.
