Post Gallbladder -- pain while laughing????

I had my gallbladder surgery on February 28th. It's been almost 3 weeks and I still can't laugh. Everytime I laugh I have a pain near the lower incision where they pumped the air into my belly. I'd really like to laugh again...is this type of pain normal and how long should I expect to deal with it??

its normal, because stretching of tissues will cause pain on the incision site.it will take time less than two months. when you laugh do splinting, or try to put pillow and then splint to prevent more pains while laughing...but don't laugh always so that will not protrude or may cause opening of the wound.Get well soon.

I had my gallbladder taken out about 5 years ago now, and I still have problems, mine isn't when I laugh though, mine is when I eat certain things. Yours sounds like possibly the incision itself healing slowly, just give it time, but if it worsens or gets worse call the doctor. I also had to go back in 5 months after my gallbladder was removed because they missed 2 stones, in my bile duct, this is unusual so they say, but just be cautious though, because even doctors sometimes make mistakes, which is hard for them to admit.

healing time is different in everyone. it will subside, give it time.

now, for those who have had their gallbladder removed due to stones, how many of you tested for liver disease? usually the gallstone is a first sign of something wrong with the liver like nash or hcv.

good luck!

It's going to take about six weeks for your pain to really be gone. If it's severe, then I would certainly consider contacting my doctor.
