A question about vaginal discharge?

I am 27 years old, never pregnant, on birth control. Monogamous relationship for the past 4 years. About three times in the past 6 months I've had discharge that is very white and the consistency of a moist flour paste. It is NOT cottage-cheese-like, and I've had yeast infections before (so I know). The consistency is much more uniform and whiter. To be safe, I have tried yeast infection medication and it has only provided temporary relief, if any relief at all. Can someone help?

It sounds to me like regular creamy cervical mucus... are you sure you've never had it before? Do a google search for cervical mucus and see if that sounds like what you have.

Have you ever had a pap smear? You could have an infection and not even know it. Not all infections present the same way for everyone. Do you douche? If so, you are washing away your bodys natural defense for infections. Best advice, go for a pap smear. Most insurances will pay for the entire thing, no co-pay, as part of their wellness program. If you don't have insurance, go to the county health department, they will do it for you for free.
