How to get cigarette smell out of memory foam pillow?

I have one of those memory foam pillows that can't be washed with water (and is really expensive to replace). I made the mistake of taking it when I was staying with someone who smoked, and now it reeks of cigarette smoke. Any ideas of how to get rid of it (I'm afraid that spraying it with Febreez may ruin it, since I'm pretty sure I'm not even supposed to get it wet).

try febreeze in an inconspiuous area. call the manufacturer and ask what they'd do. rub fabric softener sheets on it. if all else fails, let it air out on your porch or something. I live with smokers, I'm pregnant, and believe me, not only is the smell horrible, but it's bad for me more than ever!

so i know what you're dealing with,
best of luck.

call the manufacturer.

there has to be SOME way to clean those things, right?

Several things you can try:
1. Put it in the dryer on "air" with a couple dryer sheets for 15 minutes or so.
2. Air it outside in indirect sun.
3. Put a couple dryer sheets inside the pillowcase when your using it. Hopefully you'll smell them instead if the smoke.
4. Last resort I'd lightly mist it with Fe-breeze or one of the nice linen sprays, holding the bottle far enough away that it doesn't soak the pillow.

Place it in the Sun. That will likely take the odor out and will sanitize it. Good luck.

Hang it outside in the air & sun for a few days. The sun will kill the odor & the fresh air will replace it.

Why on earth is there a cigarette on your pillow? Most people smoke outside and not on their bed. Seriously, kick the habit.
