How do I edit and combine .mov and .avi clips into a single movie?
I have some classic movie clips I want to edit into a single movie. Some of the clips are .mov (Apple Quicktime) and some are .avi format. Can I do this with off the shelf video editing software, such as Ulead or Nero? I want to play them using Windows media player on a laptop.

Thanks to everyone who answered. "Super" is a great program, and did the job for me.

No, you'll need to convert MOV into AVI first. Try eRightSoft's SUPER, no guarantees. MOVs are pretty hard to convert. Best conversion tool is QuickTime Pro, but that cost $$$.
You can combine multiple clips with Ulead or Nero. Whether you can use a mov file is another issue. Apple charges royalties for a software to use mov format, so not all editors can. You may have to convert the mov clips to avi or mpg first. Check at http://download.com and you will probably find a simple (free) mov to avi/mpg converter you can use.
You have to convert them into same extention , for example convert your .mov to .avi , you can use ulead, but i suggest you freeware program ; http://www.videohelp.com/mov2avi
then you should combine them with using movie editor program , adobe premiere pro 2 is the best for movie editing, also you can use windows movie maker, you can download it free from ; www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/moviemaker2.mspx
or you can install it with using your Windows XP CD .
