I was hired by a video store as a part-time customer sales representative almost nine months ago. Here's what I've had to deal with:
I've been asked to go full-time, but the DM didn't put the paperwork through since I didn't need medical insurance (what about 401k and vacation?). Instead, they hired someone else for the full-time position. I've been pulling 40+ hours a week for the past seven months.
They won't consider me for the Assistant Manager position since I'm not available weekdays, but I've been the acting Assistant Manager for over six months.
My uncle and grandmother both died about a month apart right before Christmas. I wasn't allowed to take any time off for either of their funerals because our store was short staffed.
I took April 1st off to spend with my family since it was also my wedding anniversary. Before that, the last day off I had was March 15th.
I didn't get my last raise due to a former co-worker that insisted on screwing up transactions under other people's IDs.
I've had to remind management about ALL of my reviews. The most recent one is my six month review which is still sitting in the Manager's drawer since we've never gone over it (I've been with the company for 8 1/2 months).
At one time I liked it and even now, I'm still the top salesperson in our store, but I am looking for something else. I don't think I can take the nonsense anymore.

For the last six years, I have loved my job. I would love to go into work every day. I always and still do my job to the absolute best of my ability and give 110%. That is until last month. We have a new department head and it is just terrible. I feel like I am being picked on. Well not really picked on. I have always been the red-headed step child at my job because of my position, but I always knew the department head and administrative staff counted on me. Now I do not even have that. This department head seems like a really nice guy, but not very people friendly and treats me as an outcast. And, I have become a real dunce around him because I now doubt myself. I have lost all confidence in my knowledge and experience. I really hate waking up in the morning knowing I have to go into work.

I can't say I hate my job, but I have been doing it so long it becomes kinda boring. I am going to school though for a more challenging career.
I have good days and bad days. The people I work with are really nice so that makes it earlier.

I like my job a lot. I work with good people and I have a great boss. I have been in your shoes before though too. It's a miserable feeling.
