OK Sweety, a few things. First, it's actually 2 out of 4 marriages that end in divorce. That's right, 50%. Second, please familiarize yourself with spell-check immediately. Third, you've only been together 1 year and you want 'another' child!? How old are you? Finally, marriage is seen as a sacred institution. One that formalizes the bond between a man and a woman. But, one thing you are right on about, it's certainly not what it used to be. I say stop worrying about the marriage issue and make sure you are prepared and mature enough before you start adding to your family.
Well if one of the reasons your not getting married is because of finances. Why would you want to have another child right now? Children are not cheap; two will be even more costly. Certainly in today ages theres nothing wrong with having children and not being legally married, even more if your committed.
You can get married for cheap my brothers wedding cost just over 500$. He was being shipped out to Germany, so they wanted to marry before that. The wedding was at the house, and the reception, which was just Cake and Punch. The minister cost 50$, the cake cost a few hundred, and there was some other costs. Then I have a cousin he and his wife married for under 200$ , at the court house and my Aunt bought them a cake.
ok.....you say you're not a 'rich' couple and making it seem like you can't afford marriage right now? Then why bring a child into a low-income family?
You don't have to be married, but I don't see the point in purposely having a child outside of wed-lock. If you are scared to get married because of the divorce rate, then you should be even more afraid of having a child. If you get married and don't have kids, then you can get a divorce, whatever. But with a child involved, married or not, the other person is going to be in your life for at least 18 years.
It will just complicate both of your lives if you don't stay together. My fiance has a child, and it is EXTREMELY difficult dealing with his ex. I could not tell you how many times I've wished that his daughter just didn't exist, even though I love her like crazy!! It's just she's the glue putting his ex in MY relationship with him.
If you aren't ready for marriage, then you aren't ready for a child.
People are afraid to commit. Believe what you may, but God's word says that we are to be married. Christ's return is probably near as more and more people are thinking like you. You also said that you want to have another child together, but you have only been together for a year. How do you have a child with someone in less than a year of being with them? You don't want to rush marriage, but you want to have children? Making children is easy. Making a marriage work is even harder, it's about sacrifice. We aren't just living in the 21st. century, we are living in a time when people are saying I'll do it as long as I feel good about it, then if I don't I'll just throw it away. This is not how things work. I have been married for 11 years, my husband was my first everything(boyfriend, love, first kiss, etc.). We are now having problems, but I am bound and determined to give it my all and make it work because it is worth it to me to be with him for the rest of my life, God willing.
People have children all the time without the benefit of marriage. Of course it is nice to be married before bringing children into this world but like I said it happens all of the time. Hopefully though you have a good relationship and that the children will not be affected in any way.
