There's a (free) street fair on Myrtle every Friday night. Lots of food, vendors, music, etc. Have fun...

You can purchase a cd from the Monrovia Historical Preservation Society that will take you on a historical self-guided tour of historical Monrovia.
Or if are there for Mother's Day, you can purchase tickets to the Home Tour fundraiser.

Monrovia is one of those "America's City" towns. It's nice enough, has the usual stuff that you see in SoCal suburban/urban towns: Starbucks, strip malls, department stores, cinema multiplexes, big box stores like Costco, McDonald's, etc. It has a Claim Jumper restaurant, which we really like.
The nice part about Monrovia is that you are close to the mountains, and close to Pasadena. If you get tired of the stores and movies, you can check out the LA County Arboretum in Arcadia, the Huntinton Library in San Marino, Santa Anita Race Track, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, etc.
