How many litres are there in a billion gallons?

A previous question on billions led me to this. 10 points to the first correct answer:

(a) if you were in the UK.
(b) if you were in the USA.

I don't need conversion tables, I know what the right answer is, it's a quiz style question to see who has their international brain engaged today! :)

1 Imperial gallon (UK gallon) = 4.54609L
1 US gallon = 3.785412L

1 billion in UK (and Europe) = 10^12 or 10^9 (both scales still in use in UK)
1 billion in USA = 10^9

Therefore
1 billion gallons in UK = 4,546,090,000,000L or 4,546,090,000L depending on whether you choose to use the long scale or the short scale

1 billion gallons in USA = 3,785,412,000L

I don't know about the American gallon but there are 4.51 billion litres to 1 billion English gallons.

$2.87 per gallon for regular unleaded. I have really cut out a lot of extras like eating out as often and getting salon manicures and pedicures because of the rising prices.
