Is there a demo to show how to attach a valance to a board?

I want to make a board mounted valance and will staple it to the board but want to know if there's an on-line demo on how to attach the curtain properly, especially around the corners...do you attach the corners first or last?

I've seen this done on 'Design on a Dime'. Go to hgtv.com & you can look up the decorating shows. They'll have videos/ instructions on how to do this.
