$67 million dollar lawsuit for a lost pants, and has been dangling around for quite a while. How you think about it?

by legal expert Philip Howard told ABC News' Law & Justice Unit
"People in America are now scared of each other. That's why teachers won't put an arm around a crying child, and doctors order unnecessary tests, and ministers won't meet with parishioners. It's a distrust of justice and it's changing our culture."
I am totally agree with him, this really gave American Cultures a pretty bad image.

What you think about it? do you think this is Law Abuse or hes reasonable?

I don't think that judge has any business making judgements as obviously he is either insane, corrupt (who else can afford a $67 million pants?) or just plain stupid. And who were the idiots who appointed him? Why? This is why American companies go out of business, when someone eats a can of shaving cream and gets sick and wins a 20 billion dollar judgement from some judge such as this, because the manufacturer wasn't there to stop the comsumer from being stupid. There probably won't be any dry cleaners left in business if that idiot wins his pants suit.

I heard of this story this morning. I immediately located this judge's appointing court in Washington, DC and lodged a complaint. This is nothing more than gross exaggeration of the law. One thing that I discovered is, the Chung family located the pants with the matching receipt/tag and they were returned to the judge. I can't believe this has been going on for so long and has not been tossed out as yet. His appointment should be revoked and ordered to pay restitution for damaging the Chung family's business as well as wasting the court's time on a frivilous lawsuit. I hear there is a website being constructed where people can donate money for the Chung's defense fund. I hope it's an honest venture to reach out and help these people.

This lawsuit is ridiculous and very mean. I think the truth is that this judge/lawyer is not suing because of the pants. It sounds to me like this man has a vendetta again this poor immigrant family for unclear reasons and just wants to make their life hell. To be fighting a lawsuit for the past two year must be mentally exhausting and especially if losing means losing your whole livelihood. In actuality, to allow such frivolous lawsuits means we're the ones that are losing our rights. Anyone can sue us for causing any imagined/perceived emotional distress no matter how small.
This lawyer is using his knowledge of the legal system and its flaws to terrorized this poor family.

From what I heard, the guy that is suing is a judge, and frankly, he should know better. What a jackass. He is going to use his power as a legal official to squeeze every cent out of the owners. I feel sorry for those poor people. They offered him 12k and he turned it down. I hope the jerk loses and has to spend a lot of money on top of it all.

If it was me, I would have been happy with the money to buy a new pair of pants. That's all it would have taken.

I saw that on the news...it's sick. I just hope he doesn't win. What is he thinking? A judge with nothing better to do than use his knowledge and power to...what? Prove some kind of point? If so, I don't get what the point could possibly be. A guy that can buy an $800 pair of pants suing...the whole thing is just...ugh!
