Cleaning up your disk?

If I use my disk cleanup to compress old files, will this do anything to damage the way some of my XP programs run?
I am not sure and I do not want to do this until I am sure.
Thanks F.R.

no, it won't damage any programs, it will just delete temporary internet files etc!
if you're worried, it will give you a list for you to select what to delete before you start the Disk Cleanup

disk clean up is use for deleting old files, not for compress it. and old files will not causing damage on your windows XP programs.
this is some scheme :

use files >> temp folders >> program temp clean >> encrypted files >> old files.

so the temp folders may cause error, but not for the old files.
