In physics, heat, symbolized by Q, is defined as energy in transit.[1] Generally, heat is a form of energy transfer, sometimes called thermal energy, associated with the different motions of atoms, molecules and other particles that comprise matter when it is hot and when it is cold. High temperature bodies, which often result in high heat transfer, can be created by chemical reactions (such as burning), nuclear reactions (such as fusion taking place inside the Sun), electromagnetic dissipation (as in electric stoves), or mechanical dissipation (such as friction). Heat can be transferred between objects by radiation, conduction and convection. Temperature is used as a measure of the internal energy or enthalpy, that is the level of elementary motion giving rise to heat transfer. Heat can only be transferred between objects, or areas within an object, with different temperatures (as given by the zeroth law of thermodynamics), and then, in the absence of work, only in the direction of the colder body (as per the second law of thermodynamics). The temperature and state of a substance subject to heat transfer are determined by latent heat and heat capacity.

Part two is the answer to part one: Cold is essentially a lack of thermal energy compared to surroundings. The less thermal energy an object has, the colder it will be, and vice versa. As for the third part, cold doesn't penetrate, heat escapes. If a warm car is parked in a cold area, its' heat conducts through the structure of the car into the cold air around it, causing there to be less heat in the car, the greenhouse effect doesn't cut the mustard anyway, so don't waste your time on it. Any energy is manifested as a 'kinetic' energy in one way or another. "Heat" energy is meson particles bombarding eachother inside a set of boson particles which house the atom. It offsets the normal ratio of boson to meson count, so that when the mesons bounce around there, the distance between bosons housing the atom increases allowing more mesons to fill the space. This is why water expands into steam on a tangent scale when heated using ceramic turbines for example. Light gasses atomics utilize a 3 leaf clover pattern for thermal exchange which is also their weak force shells (3) but metals utilize 4 leafs which don't allow the atom to expand much but try to exchange excess mesons 1 dimensinoally (in 1 or 2 directions) based on the 2d plane (though in reality things are 3d it can be explained using a 2d plane for most atoms without much error) AND can use 5 bosons which actually rotates meson kinetics about a boson. Gold and copper do this. One higgs boson surrounded by 4 above and 4 below make a box. At the crossing paths where neutrinos move in one general direction from black holes and suns/stars the atomic center is created. A strong force exists at the point where electron neutrinos cross paths between bosons, and as it's monopolar event horizon fails after growing the weak shells intersecting at 90degree angles will take over until they do the same and so on, ie; the 2 work together and likewise the bosons work with them otherwise the atom would just continue to grow/expand until it became unstable. Not even Michio Kaku can show how this works using experimental evidence (particles proven to exist) but this does.
