Can it be said that a book changed your life if...?

...it fell off a shelf and hit you in the head, causing permanent brain damage? (Instead of you cracking the book it cracked you!) You never opened it, never read a word of it, and yet it had a profound influence on your life.

Sure it can. Although it must have been a very large, heavy, and possibly sharp book.

Things happen every day that shape and change our lives, not just books bonking us on the head.

I really have had a book change my life ... my first book accepted for publication.

yes, if it were a heavy book and fell on someone's head, it is bound to change his life forever. it will impair him permanently. God forbid. It is such a tragedy, to have ur brain damaged.

I would say no; and that saying a book can change your life, is meant to be for people who read books and then become changed. Bye!!!

Yes, it can be said that a book really changed your life.
But your reverse logic will not change or shock anybody, I'm afraid.
