If you use Napster could you answer my question please?

For any current Napster users, on the homepage it says "listen to and d/l an unlimited amount of music". I know that after the free trial there is a monthly fee to use their service but I'm wondering whether or not there is a fee per download? If so, what is the average price per mp3? Or do you just pay the monthly fee and the rest is free? I'd like to d/l music for my iPod but I'd probably be d/l'ing a whole lot, so I need to know what exactly you pay for with Napster. Plus, does anyone have any suggestions for similar sites if that one isn't too good?

Thanks in advance for any help.

First things first: Napster is not compatible with your iPod or iTunes. You can only get music you d/l from Napster into iTunes by burning it onto CD and then ripping it into iTunes.

If you d/l just one track, it's 79p per track, the same as iTunes and you can keep the track forever. If you pay monthly you can d/l as many tracks as you want BUT you can only access them for as long as you continue to subscribe. If you cancelled, you would have to then d/l the songs at 79p each to keep them.

Napster is good and I can often find tracks on there that aren't on iTunes but that's the only reason I use it - it's too much trouble otherwise. You could always purchase a compatible mp3 player, of course - you'll find a list at www.napster.com in the FAQ section.

i can help you on this. you have to pay a monthly subscription to Napster to listen to the music. (mines is 12.99) To buy the song it will cost 99 cents. Albums: 5.99-10.99 it compares to how many songs in the album. Napster can rip you off though. I brought an album there that was 6.99, they took like 20 dollars out of my debt card cause it had 20 songs on it.They went by each song instead of the whole album itself.

I'm switching back to my original subscriber "Rhapsody". Its like Napster, but way better. Its cheaper, more organized, and they have 49 cent songs specials. So if i have to request a music store, pick rhapsody...You can use your IPOD and any other mp3 player on it also.

Another one that you can use is ITunes. Thats actually used for IPODs. I use this one if you want a really rare song. Problem, with that is that I tunes and windows media players dont get along. WMP will copy all of your music in their folder, which takes up more room, and if you delete songs from WMP, it will delete the whole download itself. (but i deleted WMP a long time ago, so i dont have to worry about it)

No its a subscription service. I havent used napster however the deal is which you purchased 60 songs and that they have got drm and the drm is for napster and once you cease paying 5 money you cant hear. you will desire to burn them to cd then there drm loose as long is it isnt a awareness disc. yet i does no longer propose napster. Its kinda a ripoff.
