It seems that I'm always cleaning this kitchen floor because it seems to hold so much dirt. I am looking for a way to clean the ceramic tile efficiently but easily. I've used the Swiffer Wet Jet, not happy, I've used a mop, not happy, I've even used two rags under my feet and squirt cleaning solution while skating around on the floor to clean it better, I got a good workout but my floor never seems to look great. Has anyone tried the Floor Mate? does it work well? Any other suggestions?

i used to install tile for a living, i always cleaned my finished jobs up with phosphoric acid ( the same stuff thats in coca cola) you can buy it in almost any hardware store for cheap and it does a great job. mop your floor with a mix of 1/2 gal. acid to 2 gal. hot water, and rinse with hot water afterwards. itll look great and smell pleasant as well. you might also want to get your grout lines sealed you can do it yourself which is a pain or you can pay someone about 50 - 75 cents a foot to do it for you.
I use a Magic Mop which has an abrasive side and a smooth side so I can scrub from a height. It took a little getting used to and I now pick up the dirt bits with the smooth edge as well. Bought in a supermarket or Wilkinson type store. I also use bleach and a tiny bit of washing up liquid as suggested by Aggie in how clean is your house. Tried the steam mop and everything was very wet, try to borrow one to try before buying,
I would suggest first using a stiff brush (like it was suggested earlier, a deck brush) with just warm water. Then go over the floor lightly with a mixture of 1 cup household vinegar and 1 gallon warm water with a regular mop.
