I have no idea what your transportation costs to and from are going to be -
But figure between $100.00 - $200.00 per day per person - depending on how expensive your tastes are and much money you want to spend on your hotel, entertainment, cab fares, and food.
At that time of year you should still be able to locate a decent hotel for around $70.00 per night per person. (Hotel Del Rey in San Jose, and Hotel Kamuck in Quepos - to name just two)
Everything in Costa Rica is about one third cheaper than what it is in the States. A bottle of IMPERIAL beer costs $1.00 USD in the bars there. - and in the grocery stores a six pack costs around $2.79 - and it is the best tasting beer in the world!
I pay in advance for my Air fare and Hotels and then I take about $200.00 per day allowance - and I always come back with tons of money left over!
I have been going to CR every year for the last twelve years and Love it!

I go to Costa Rica each year in November. With airfare, hotels, car, meals and entertainment we spend (for two) about $2500. Our biggest expense is airfare-at least $1400. If you go into the country, there are places to stay for under $40.00 a night actually within walking distance of some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Guanacaste is the northeastern most province. It has reasonably priced lodging, food and entertainment and the people are friendly.

I would say $1000 for a week of partying. Tipping is not really customary but you can give if you'd like. If you stick to typical Costa Rican cuisine it will be fairly inexpensive. If you are a beer drinker, order Imperial it's a Costa Rican beer that's really good. You will definitely see many tourists in Jaco. Have fun.
