When did the seat belt law go into effect in California?
Is there a site that tells when seat belt laws went into effect in each state? Or can you tell me when California's seat belt law began? I found out this morning that all states except NH have laws regarding seat belts, but I was also wondering how long we've had to buckle up here.
I remember not having to wear them at all when I was a kid. I think I also remember that when the laws first started only those in the front had to wear one...I think.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any help.
Hmm, I know it's been in effect way longer than a year and a half ago. I'm thinking it started sometime when I was a teenager back in the 80's, but I'm not sure.
Also, I don't really want to contact the CHP because this is just a random question.
