I am looking for a web hosting service for my business, but I do not know enough about all of that stuff to trust myself to pick a good one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
First of all, I need help deciding what I would require, such as disk space, data transfer, e-mail addresses needed, Databases(MySQL), SSL, FTP, what kind of server i need, etc
Just to give an idea of what I would be requiring, I will have between 700-1000 pages, I expect anywhere between 5,000-15,000 visitors a month, and I will probably have online stores on the site in the future. Also, I may be soliciting advertisements on my site(which apparently Yahoo! Web hosting does not allow). And I do not want to spend more than $20-40 a month.

I just read one of the answers someone gave me and I wanted to clear up how I am going to advertise. I'm going to advertise mostly local businesses and have stores for local businesses. It is going to be more of an information website that is free for people to browse and look for local stores, etc. I am not personally selling anything. I do see what you are saying though about that, I just wanted to see if you have the same feelings about it after knowing that.

One of the most reputable web hosts (especially for businesses) is 1And1, http://www.1and1.com
They have many different packages for many different budgets and usage needs. They would be my personal recommendation simply based on the fact that I have used them a couple times for several different projects, and they also happen to be the webhost of my current employer and I have had no issues with them to this date.
I found https://www.securepaynet.net/gdshop/rhp/default.asp?prog_id=SanctStore to have the lowest prices. I have several sites hosted by them and they seem to be really realiable. They have 24x7 support line.
I would suggest that you get a virtual hosting plan from them. Their economy plan only costs $29.99 per month and that includes 10GB of disk space, 500 GB data transfer. Email addresses and all the other stuff all come with the plan. They even give me an one-time $25 Google AdWords credit and an one-time $50 Microsoft AdCenter credit for free.
In the future, when you are ready, you can purchase a security certificate with them. They also sell merchant account services too, which will allow you to charge credit card order online.

I personally use Plan A.. Have been using them since 2002.. So my 2¢.. very Reliable!
I use ICDhost. They are really cheap and have the best support ever. They have really anything you'd need. Oh, if this website is for a business where you provide services or sell products then you do not want to sell ads. It screams "here I'm too cheap to pay the website myself, here are some ads to my competitors!" You won't make money from the ads with your small traffic load. The resources you need really depend on how big your pages are, what kind of photos you have, etc.
They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 300000 MB (300 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well. Visit the site to check details.
