Irregular period please help?

Hi, I'm 21 years old (still a virgin ). I am suffering from an irregular period. Some times I miss a month, and then other times its month to month. Mostly however it's about every other month ranging between 52-73 days apart. I know some of you might like this idea of not having a period every month, but for me its horrible....I feel bloated, my appitite increases, and it affects my mood. I'm already on medication for hypo-thyroid, but is there anything I can do to get my period to become more regular? (oh yeah, I started my period at 10 years old and I've never known regular, although at times my period is more irreguar than others....it's never predictable_

Go see your doctor. If you want your periods to be regular you can take birth control. There are also some other medications out there to help you, but not without seeing a doctor. Good luck.

You are describing me. I was never regular until I gave birth to my first child and I was a virgin until 29. Anyhow, If you want to regulate your period one option is birth control. Just keep in mind that just because you are on birth control does not mean that your values will change. Also, be aware that birth control contains hormones that can be dangerous to your health. I chose not to use birth control because I didn't want to risk the side effects. I hope this helps a little. Things usually even out a little as your body matures.

Have you ever seen the doctor about it? If you exercise a lot, that could explain why your periods occur less than once a month; a hormonal imbalance could also be to blame. Birth control is often prescribed to regulate cycles, and could help with your other symptoms.

I hear birth control helps to regulate menstrual cycles. Go to the gyno
