Why do we find potty humor so amusing?
Seriously, what's so funny about bodily functions....besides the noises?

I think it's our instinct for some of us to not like the "prim and proper world".
Like what would be better than ripping a big huge egg fart in front of Queen Elizabeth just to watch her gag run away and get the guards on ya.
It's our defiance in the tyranny of "order".

I don't find potty humor one bit funny. A particularly revolting memory from my childhood is of my brothers and one of their disgusting buddies sitting on our sofa, legs in the air trying to pass wind simultaneously with matches at the ready in the belief that blue flames would shoot from their backsides, if a match was lit at the moment of the gas escaping.

I don't know, I guess it's the reaction from the people around you that makes it amusing. I'm a girl, and I find potty humor funny.

I agree with you, it isn't funny. Perhaps the normal (polite) suppression of these things makes us tense about them, and so prone to laugh explosively when someone draws attention to them. Unfortunately some people learn this link, and then become tiresome 'jokers'.

I don't find toilet humor funny. I did when I was a kid, but you get to a point where it gets old. Whenever I see a movie or tv show that uses it, I think they must have run out of jokes in order to resort to toilet humor.
