Just think people...... our countrymen were boarding there ships, and planes right about now while getting ready to storm the beaches of Normady to take down Hitler and the german army! I often sit here wondering what those poor souls where thinking themselves about this time!? I bet they were scared as hell, but ready none the less! Well, when u pass a flag today.... just remember... today was the day that was put in our history and came to be called, "D-Day!"
Remember ur freedom, and the price it costs to uphold it!
Remember ur brothers, ur sisters, ur dads, ur grandparents......

We should never forget. Men bravely laid down their lives so that we might be free, we owe them a great debt.
We should honour the fallen, whose bodies lie undiscovered across Europe, their names engraved on a memorial forever. But we should also honour those veterans still alive. They fought a war so entirely different to modern warfare, they truly are heroes.
Many films have tried to capture the Second World War, such as Saving Private Ryan or Band Of Brothers. They give us a very little idea of all the horrors men witnessed on the battlefield. Friends dying, men without limbs and the sheer brutality of it all must have been so terrible.
I thank God for all those soldiers who died in the Second World War, all those who fell on the Normandy Beaches, their blood turning the sea and sand red, and all those who did survive through D-Day, to fight for their country. We should never forget.
Remember. Never Forget The Price They Paid So We Might Be Free. Never Forget D-Day.
Remember that what we have and have achieved required great bravery and sacrifice . Freedom is never free but given by some who would pay dearly to insure that the next generation can live free from oppression. Today, those that volunteer to serve may die but everyone should be grateful that THEIR GIFT to us --is that THEY recognize that their kid/grand kid and everyone else's loved ones are precious and must be protected. Too bad so many in the USA fail to realize that few nations in the world believe that their population is it's greatest resource.. History shows that failure to be vigilant and protect the nation courts disaster. Peacefull co-existence is far better than war yet NO nation survives unless it stands together against those that for whatever reason, seek to usurp or destroy. We should all pause in awe of those that have fallen and those that volunteer to serve today...They protect the living and the next generation...
D Day was a day we lost many good Americans. People should always remember that freedom is never free. I am currently in Baghdad, Iraq; this is my second tour and I remember that it is because of my forefathers that I am able to be here now and proudly serve my country and try to give freedom to the people of Iraq. My Daughter traveled to Europe last Summer as a Student Ambassador. She had the Honor and Privilege to attend the Memorial Ceremony at Omaha Beach. She keeps a small jar of Omaha Sand to remind her of those who went before us. And so, we remember. D
How can anyone forget this day!!! I am not sure if any of my family members fought but all I know I respect everyone who has and is serving. They went through so much we should realize we are lucky. Hopefully even the democrats will realize that too. Thank you to everyone who has and is serving in the Military.
