My home page yahoo.com keeps changing into google.com and I am being bombarded with porn web sites. Need help?

Regardless of how many times I set my home page to yahoo, google.com keeps on changing the settings and becoming my home page instead. If I click on an e-mail link from macys.com per example, I am being redirected to a porn web site, and porn pop ups appear. What can I do to prevent this from happening?

First of all, make sure you run a good virus scanner and anti spyware program. I'd go with Avast antivirus and Ad Aware SE and Spybot Search and Destroy.

Next, if you're using Firefox, reinstall it. If you can reinstall IE, you could try that too.

Finally, right click your desktop and make a shortcut. Make the shortcut go to an arbitrary website that you know is good, like http://www.thegriddle.net or http://www.davenport.edu. Using the shortcut to open the browser will make only that page open, not your homepage. This way you will be able to set your homepage without going through the whole crazy yahoo to google problem. Hope this helps.

It sounds like spyware/adware.. I've had something like that happen to me before... Perhaps you need a spyware/adware remover... Spybot is a good free one of these, you can find it on google. =]
Also, it'd be a good idea to do anti-virus scans (AVG is a free one you can find online at google).
If you want to get really good about taking care of your computer, you should do registry scans, too. I have a registry fixing program called icCleanup, you can get it at places such as Office Depot or Office Max. This program also takes care of other things, such as cleaning your history or cleaning your cookies.
Good luck. =] =]

**Edit: I also have a firewall- that blocks many hacking attempts. You can download ZoneAlarm for free online. And a popup blocker would help a little, too.
Keeping a computer in good shape isn't always simple!

You possibly have malware, adware or a trojan and you need a serious anti virus like AVG free edition. You also need anti-spyware like Adaware, Spyware doctor, Spybot. And you need a pop up blocker. As I imagine you are using IE as your browser it is much recommended to use an alternative browser such as Firefox as they have a built in pop up blocker. And much safer as many feel it to be true. Check this site for some good free anti virus and others.

Hey ace, have you downloaded limewire or kazaa for music? When you do, you give them permission to put things on your computer. You have to take it off. Read on...

dlder.exe - An advertising trojan that is installed by Grokster (1.33), Bearshare (2.4.0b7), LimeWire (2.02), Net2Phone (unspecified versions) and KaZaA (unspecified versions). The spyware itself comes from ClickTillUWin.com. Taking the torch from even the worst advertising spyware to date, this one creates a fake Explorer executable and process to hide its activities. More information here. Some antivirus manufacturers have listed this as a virus or trojan horse: TROJ_DLDER.A.
