I can't say how much spending money you'll want, because that all depends on how much you want to buy. But there is plenty to buy in France, if you like shopping.

1 Euro = about 1.34 USD, but it fluctuates almost daily, so just check before you go. You can check at all sorts of places, including cnn.com, which will have a daily accurate exchange rate. But be careful where you exchange money, some people will ding you on it. Also, some places will accept USD, but I wouldn't reccommend counting on that. Credit cards are good, because you can just go to an ATM and pull money out in Euros, and you won't have to worry about getting too much and having Euros left over and all that. But you sound kind of young, so maybe you don't have a credit card. But you can exchange money at airports or banks or even some hotel lobbies. But almost all of them will take a percentage.

Sorry. I'm rambling.

Take a debit card, and check before coming what your bank will charge you for using it abroad. It should be free or token money only.
A credit cart in an ATM is for emergencies only, as they charge 5% or so, or a flat fee of $10.

As the others say, the value if the dollar is a little less than the Euro, but you will use more money than you would expect, so make sure you have more money in the bank than you expect to use, or arrange with someone at home that they put money in your account if you run out, (like from your savings account.)
If you stay in Paris or on the Meditarian coast you will need a lot more, if you stay in one of the many smaller town you might be able to keep within your budget.

One dollar is about 0.7 euros.
France is exoensive as the Euro is higher. Your dollar will ahve low exchange rate. Just bring about double what you would spend in the states don't worget that you are on vacations thus you will spend more.

$2.00 dollars = 1.478 euros

If you buy a pair of shoes for 100 euros you are spending $135.40 dollars.

Need more details on how much money to bring. Are you staying in hotels, taking taxi's, plan on buy lots of items, going to museums?
