The University is actually split into lots of different colleges - some are worth a walk around - especially Christ Church where some of Harry Potter was filmed! The University gardens are lovely and the the Thames flows right through the middle so you can go on boat trips or hire a gondola type boat with a pole to push you along! Shopping is good and there are some fantastic places to eat - the old prison has just been transformed into a complex with loads of restaurants! The Ashmolean museum is also worth a visit. I love Oxford and have lived near here for years now!

I would look forward to it for a start. I was fortunate enough to live in Oxford for three years a few years ago and I still pine for the place. It is a wonderful place to live, the surrounding area is truly beautiful, the people are warm, a piece of real England. Just take it all in when you get there, ask questions, be curious, take a tour, walk around the city and just enjoy! Best of luck.

your looking because you're going to study there?

look around the campus of the university college where you will be studying obviously and your potential halls of residence, and ask lots of questions.

you could take a tour of the city on the sightseeing buses , but it is raining pretty heavily, on and off, here at the moment.
