Who has a USB mouse?

I have a Kensington USB mouse and I find that the darn pointer moves all by itself. The first time it happened my hand was on the mouse so I thought I was moved it, but it happened again when my hand wasn't touching the mouse.

Sometimes the pointer scrolls across the screen (horizontally), but recently it went in a diagnal direction.

Do I have a spyware on my computer or is this normal for USB mice?

Serious replies please.

I'm using a desktop, the mouse is optical, and as for mouse pad...i'm ashamed to say it, but i've had it for 10-11 years now.

I guess I should replace it, huh?

Any mouse with a cord is subject to moving due to tension in cord ! Someone or something having remote access permissions to your computer can cause this. If you feel you have spyware , download / intall / n run Adaware personal Edition , GoodLuck

Best Solution I think is arrange any other mouse may be an optical or USB but check whether this problem exists if yes there may be hardware fault or a spyware in ur computer........

I have it once in a while with a normal logitech optical usb mouse. Not much but sometimes it just goes horizontal or up diagonally. Not sure why though.

No you dont have spyware or anything. My mouse does it all the time i guess you just have to put up with it. Getting a new mouse pad may help.

is it an optical mouse? if so blow the dust out of the optical pickup. and either way update the drivers for it
