Is anyone else appalled?!?!?

I'm from Pittsburgh and have been to North Park several times. I don't believe there was even a problem... afterall it IS a park. Anyways, wouldn't a better solution have been to warn people not to stick their fingers in geese droppings and place said fingers in mouth?!?!

I find this appaling but it is just another sign of how todays society rids its self of unwanted things.

WOW I live in Pittsburgh too. I remember feeding the geese when I was little. There were a lot all the time and the poop was all over. You have to remember its a place for family. There are so many playgrounds for smaller children and everyone knows children like to eat stuff. Although it is a little harsh, the park will probably be better now.

Thats horrible they had to gas them instead of relocation. Disease can be spread by numerous ways though, children are high at risk. You can walk in the droppings and have tiny amount stuck on your shoe. How do you then take your shoes off? With your hands. We in general do not wash hands after doing this, most people I mean. I cannot believe that they couldnt round up the geese to be released in a different area, its sad for the environment.
