If I had to choose one pokemon from the original pokedex to start with, it would be mew, because mew can learn every move, and its cool :)

Pikachu all the way i played it on Pokemon yellow version and it was fun but i couldnt evolve him which was alright with me cause raichu looks g@y lol.
