Buy a Kia Rio or a Ford Focus?
What car is better: Kia Rio or Ford Focus? The Kia Rio has longer warranty (10yrs) but the engine is only 1.6L, the Focus is 2.0.
Please advice!

Personaly don't like either car. But Kia would be a better bet in the long run. Anything with the name Ford in it brings a bad taste to my mouth.

Steer clear of the Chevy Aveo. When GM bought Daewoo they brought it out as the Aveo. They also tend to lose value quickly. Also MPG's for the Aveo I think are a little substandard. Motorweek rated it as a poor pick lastyear saying the car was less than willing to go into any speed. When forced to speed up on a hill would let you know with lots of engine noise. Kia is owned by Hyundai so they're good vehicles. Either the Kia Rio or Hyundai Accent would be a great pick. I've owned my Hyundai Accent for about 4 years now and nothing wrong as of yet. Ford focus would be another good pick. I just wouldn't because its a ford. The only ford I will ever own and drive would be their trucks. If you want a economical ford go with the Ranger. They'll last for ever. Had a 1986 ford ranger 5 spd. Darn thing had well over 200k mi and still ran strong. Then the transmission gave out. Original transmission and clutch. Would have cost more than worth to fix.

I don't have alot of experience with the Kia, but I have a friend and a relative that both own a Ford Focus and I've only known them to be very reliable, and I actually get a kick out of driving them - That 2.0 liter four is a rocket, and there's a reason - it's a zoom-zoom engine.
That 2.0 liter four-cylinder is a Mazda-developed engine (with little Ford interference) that they also use in the Mazda 3i, which should quell any fears about domestic reliability - It's a Japanese engine!
Just do your homework with any car purchase. With something as important as your car, you're gonna get what you pay for. Check out Edmunds.com! Great resource for all your auto questions. Best of luck.

You can not compare the two.
It depends on what you are using it for. The warranty is great. The gas saver is the kia but most kia rios are the basic models. These cars dont have automatic pwr window, locks, and alarms. I would recommend going with the kia spectra five. I have a lot of infomation if you would like to compare the two just email me ok

Kia might have the longer warranty but if you google kia,, you will see a bunch of complaints where the timing belts have broken before the 60 K and Kia wont pay for a new engine,
go with the ford, it has been around a long time, plus it doesnt come from Korea
