What is the best way to keep mosquitos away? Yard Guard, Mosquito Magnet, Off! Torches; Do they work?
I know repellants are probably the best but I'm trying to organize a backyard BBQ, but we have serious mosquitos.

If you have an electrical outlet near your sitting area in your backyard, plug in a fan that will scan the area. Any kind of flying insect hates breezes !

This works great for us.
A home remedy from Howard Garrett, the "Dirt Doctor".
All natural and non-toxic and it even smells good.
But it isn't permanent, you have to spray it every 4 hours or so.
Mosquito Repellents
DEET products are too toxic and should never be used, especially around children and more especially on their skin. What is effective, non-toxic and recommended is explained below.
Vanilla home remedy for personal use:
8 oz water
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp. orange oil
Spray on liberally.

All of these work to an extent, but there will never be 100% success with any of these..torches etc..repellents of this sort depend on which way the wind is blowing etc..if the torches are not drifting thier scent/smoke..in the proper direction, or you have irregular wind ..you will have this problem..My best bet would be to buy an outside screened in partition..which usually from 75.00 to 300.00 depending on size you may need and go inside it....Of course , this depends on your budget too here..may not be cost efficient for you todo this..
