Ok heres my problem..... Seven years ago I was diagonosed with Multipule Sclerosis and I haven't worked since my diagonosis. Now that I feel I have my health in the best order that I can I am now thinking about getting a part time job. Should I be up front and honest about me having MS or should I not bring it up until later? I know that honesty is the best policy but I can't help but to feel that I wouldn't be hired because of my disease even if I could do it. What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Dh (recruiter for 17 years) says to only bring it up if you're pressed to do so. You'll have to explain a gap in employment. What he suggested was to say that there were some private family issues that you needed to tend to, but that they're resolve now.
They can't legally not hire you because of the health issues, but they could come up with other reasons that are legal to not hire you....so it's best to avoid it if possible.
I suggest not bringing it up during the interview. If you feel you can do the job there is no reason for them to know. I don't know why they would ask, but if it happens to come up then be honest. After you are hired, if you feel comfortable bringing it up for medical reasons then I would say that would make sense. Good Luck!
I would be up front and honest. If you get sick at work and need a doctor they need to know how to help you. You will find someone understanding that will give you a chance. I would tell them I have it under control...etc. maybe even get your doctor to write a letter to potential employers that you can take on your interview to show them you are serious. If you know someone didn't hire you because of your condition, then sue the H*LL out of them!!
Whatever they ask, be 100% honest and just be yourself...Don't bring up anything that they don't ask you about first. Above anything else, go with the flow and be yourself! Good Luck!
