Vancouver, BC, week of September 8-13...?

We're going to Vancouver for our honeymoon. Staying downtown...there's plenty that we want to do, but I was wondering if any locals knew of anything going on during that week and also if someone could recomend a tatoo shop, as we may get one up there.Thanks.

There is always so much to do in Vancouver!

Something a lot of people dont really know much about is Lighthouse Park if you want to do a nice walk in a very scenic quiet area. Its very almost spiritual and its romantic. There IS a lighthouse, its a gorgeous forest right in the city - you feel as if you have left the city behind. IMO way better than Stanley park

I love Steveston for atmosphere too. Granville island is a must see, pick up some fresh seafood and other goodies for a picnic in one of the parks.

Check out the photos of Lighthouse Park I posted a link.

I have posted the September schedule for you below as well

Something else that would be romantic is to do a walk on on one of the ferries, which are actually ships and take a cruise, its very scenic and special. You could go to Vancouver island or up to Gibsons Landing. Turn around and sail right back on the same ferry.

Of all the numerous parks in the Lower Mainland Lighthouse Park could be considered the most spiritual. The park contains the last stand of old growth forest in the area. Standing amongst these quiet giants and looking straight up to see their tops it is easy to be open to nature's many blessings and to wish their continuity. It becomes understandable why so many individuals have devoted their lives to preserve what's left of these survivors.

It is easily accessible off Marine Drive via Beacon Lane in West Vancouver just east of Eagle Harbour. Lots of trails wind their way around the park with several challenging changes in elevation. Small picnic areas are scattered amongst the big trees. Several rocky outcroppings present wonderful vistas of the area, Vancouver and Vancouver Island. There are public facilities available. Along the forest floor it remains cool even on hot days, very welcome considering the exertion required on some of the trails.
