I'm SICK of this!!!?

I'm so tired of my mom, she keeps on trying to raise my daughter, and making snide coments on how I do it. I know she's just trying to help me but it's almost every day she has something to say about the way I treat my baby, and I treat her pretty da*n good! She's my little princes. How do I get her to back off without hurting her? How do I let her know that her oppion is welcomed only when I ask for it? It's driving me NUTS!! thanks!

A mother is a mother is a mother. We can't help it. We love our children and want the best for them. We don't mean to step on your toes, but it comes naturally.

Tell her you appreciate her guidance, but want to learn from your own mistakes and that you are doing fine. Be polite, but firm. God bless you.

Doesnt matter how you say it she will be hurt because being hurt is one way some people use to manipulate the situation. She will lay guilt on you to back off so she can continue her obsessive controlling. Its best if you just tell her outright in an assertive way to back off and then no matter how she reacts stand your ground. If she gets weird about it thats ok cuz she will be back enventually. She wont want to miss out on watching the baby grow up. Be firm and assertive and stand your ground. Mutual respect will help your relationship grow. She will eventually learn this but only if you stand up for yourself, set boundaries and stick to them. If you cave in then youre back to where you are now.

just tell her mom, you raised me and you did a good job. now it's time to trust me in my decisions with my family. i appreciate your input, but i'd rather make my own choices on raising my daughter, right or wrong, they will be my choices. if i need help in any way, i'd ask you first, but, please just be a grandma to my daughter and that means just love her and spoil her and leave the rest up to me. i hope she sees your point. i'm sure she did not like family giving her advice when she was raising you. don't let her make you nuts, that only takes away from you the enjoyment of the family you created. don't give her that power.

Your mom is simply still mothering you. After all, she raised you. So ask her if sher feels she did a good job of raising you. When she answers yes, then tell her that it's your turn to do the dirty work now, and she should just sit back and enjoy the show.

She just doesn't want you to make some of the mistakes she did. I'm sure that you and your mom had your ups and downs, so maybe she just doesn't want that to happen to you. Just hang in there. Keep ignoring the comments, or start ignoring them. And eventually she will back off. I mean, she is your mom!! She know whats best for HER little girl, so maybe she needs to accept she is your kid. Not hers.
