I found this 2007p Washington dollar and was wondering if it is a mint error? I found a site that referred to this coin as a starburst like ray effect error. They called it a "Lamination Error". Is it a mint error? does it have any value.

It may have been struck with a die on it's last legs. The star burst effect was found on state quarters and coins that had huge mintage figures. I also believe it may have been found on proof coins also. There was an article in Coin World or Numismatic News about this effect last year or so. At the time the big error people like ken Potter, kind of said it is not actually an error but an old die problem. With real true collectible coins going up so high in price, everyone is now trying to come up with something else and error coins are it. A coin with die cracks on it or a die cud is not an error coin but actually a normal one where the die is so old it is falling a part. An error is a mistake or at least used too be. It is not a lamination error, the site is wrong. Looking at your coin a counting machine may have done that, your coin does not have the same star burst effect that I saw.
