Panasonic remote programming?

I have a 50 inch plasma made by panasonic. I want to program my directv receiver into the remote it came with. I tried all the codes that are included in the book but I can't get it.

I have a 50" Panasonic too, and I don't think the Panasonic remote is made to operate a DirectTV receiver.
