I have a question about people sending me employment opportunities.?
I am registered on the major job posting boards. Frequently, I get emails stating that a company-usually foreign-wants to hire me. They claim that all I have to do is accept payments for them through either a PayPal or Western Union account. Are any of these "offers" legitimate?
The scheme is a MAJOR rip off and works like this. 1. You get a "money order" or other "Payment" in the mail for the company. 2. You cash it (usually at your bank) and send the funds minus a fee or comission to your "employer" 3. The "payment" comes back to your bank as a forgery or other bogus form of fraud sticking you with not only a bounced check fee for the instrument cashed but also on the hook to pay the bank back for the fuunds they gave you when you cashed it. 4. The "employer" continues on to he next sucker to do the same thing.
You will get several of these in a short period of time and then they will stop roughly the same time as the first one you cashed comes back on you.
No stay clear it is a no go. A few years ago I was selling a music instrument and I had someone from over seas offer to buy it, so he sent a money order for like $4000 more than what the payment was to be and wanted me to cash it and us the money to send it to him and the remaining money. It was all bogus so just don't waste your time and steer clear of anything that is not true.
I would not send money to a company via pay pal or any other agency. International laws apply to that transaction and the chances of you getting your money back is slim. Why are they requesting money?. It works the other way around. You exchange your time for their money. Are you looking for an opportunity.
