Yes, take the word personally, but the subj of the word, something u don't need to consider seriously or put your attention much to it

Thats usually a precursor to someone saying something personal. My personal fav is the way people say "I'm not racist but..." before saying something racist.

How else are you suppose to take it? They're just trying to hide the fact that they're really aiming the remark at you.

yeah, it pretty much works that way for me too..... Because it seems that person says something that they know I will take personally....
