My first answer was "the egg", in the first few days there were only 20-30 regulars, and most new people were new to it and so the usual question was what came first the chicken or the egg

in the beginning we thought it was a race to level 5, and mainly people answered, and tried giving good answers to give best answer

people could give best answers right away and that of course led to the delay from asking to picking best answer

in the beginning i was trying to get points to get more levels to have more answers to give, and didn't really have any desire to ask much of anything

soon i caught on, i could ask questions and give best answers and then the people i was giving best answer to would be more likely to give me best answer

my son had an incident in feb 2006, and i was in religion asking why god had done this to my son
i shortly became atheist, connecting with atheism

it was i think in march that i realized the "bully pulpit" of asking questions

i invented a "charachter" who i'll leave nameless, but used that charachter to explore the god, the charachter asked serious intellectual questions that i had about god,
because religious people sometimes give absurd answers i followed up with other questions linking previous questions asking for further explanation

this was seen by religious people as good because they were challenged and for some this deepened their faith
some who were atheists and agnostics were considering my questions also, and for a time a group of 30-50 regulars asked and answered in the mornings about religion, and pursued what we thought was a truth

at one point i was told that i was a moral leader and a woman asked me if she should have a threesome with her husband, and that i was in a position of moral authority to give that as an answer

i was not liking that position i just wanted to have "intellectual fun" but the reality was i was interacting and influencing people in their real lives, and maybe not for good or bad, but maybe just wasteing their time

because of that interaction with the real people, via phone and email, my charachter eventually suffered a backlash, and i've had to reborn and go "underground", and have since chosen my friends wisely, telling them i wish no part in your real life, just wanting to come to yahoo answers and play around,

im living my private life private, and my yahoo answers life void of any desire for popularity,

my only desire is to have fun at this point in yahoo answers time

I still have my original account and I have never had any others. I became a member on July 4, 2006. My first answer was to a question posted by Dr. Stephen Hawking http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjVxUbd5LWzOx0MfyuPxCmzty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20060704195516AAnrdOD&show=7#profile-info-c32ad6278ed171cdd5089f4021da47a9aa

About a gazillion people answered the thing, so I'm sure you're not going to be surprised when I tell you that I didn't get best answer. The funny thing is that I was just sure I was going to be picked! LOL. That just shows how green I was back then about how things worked on the site.

February 1 2006

I found Yahoo! Answers in December 2005. It had just been released to the public (it was used only by Yahoo! staff, before that), and it was in Beta. I didn't have anything to ask and, for some reason, also didn't feel like answering so, for almost two months, I'd spend hours here, every day, only reading. By the time I finally decided to join, I already knew many of the first users by name. Most of them became my friends, and many are still around.

I finally decided to jump in, and became a member, when I was having problems with both my Gmail and my Yahoo! Mail, and couldn't find a way of solving the problems myself - which I always try to do, before asking for help. My first questions were about these emails. I'm not 100% sure which was the first one, but I think it was one about my avatar, at my Yahooo!/UK account. I don't remember what was my first answer. My first YA account was suspended, weeks ago, so I can't go back there to check this information for you.

YA was so much fun, back then!! We didn't have to worry about stalkers, violations, report abuses. It was just asking and answering. And getting to know great people, from all over the world, and making very good friends :)

May 8, 2007, I posted a question in regard to breeding our mare by artificial insemination to produce a foal from the Gypsy King line. They did not seem friendly, so I clicked to R&S because I thought it would be friendlier! Yahoo! I must say that I have met some of the most wonderful and interesting characters here, and I am not sorry I hung around. You are one of the ones I treasure. I know you watch out for us.

Edit: Answers were for the most part uninformed and one actually said to buy another horse. It concluded with I would never forgive myself if something went wrong with the mare. I finally got a breeder who gave a somewhat informed answer, and I moved on.
