What do you type into Run on windows to see the startup programs?

I saw this thing on Yahoo home page one time and if you typed this certain thing into the Run command on Windows start menu then it would open up a window that showed you every program that started when Windows started, what is that command?

As the other answers stated, the command you are wanting is ' msconfig ' and then click on the Startup Tab at the top of the System Configuration box when it opens. This will list all the "Other" programs that are starting at the time Windows starts - It does not show all the system programs/services/etc. If you are troubleshooting a problem like a slow startup, it also just lists the program names - it doesn't give a description, but you can get an idea of which program they are related to by 'dragging' the right side of the Command section area (in the center of the Startup Tab) over to the right to expose more of the path information. This will help you possibly identify what programs each name is associated with so you will know if you want to disable it or you will know more what to expect if you do disable it and then reboot in your troubleshooting process. For example, if the name of the program you are going to disable has to do with a program you only use every now and then, you know you would be safe to disable it on startup - however, if it had something to do with the windows operating system you might want to think about it real hard before you crash your system and you would also want to make sure you have your system Recovery Disks on hand. Hope this helps - good luck.

go to Run and type msconfig. The Startup tab is what you are looking for.
