Feng shui in my master bedroom?

Currently when you walk into the bedroom you face the foot of the bed. In what I have gathered from reading about Feng Shui this is not where you want your bed. Can it be on the same wall as the door? Is the color yellow ok for a bedroom? Should the tv be out of the bedroom? What if it is in a cabinet with doors that shut? is it true not to have mirrors in the bedroom? If there is a bathroom connected to the bedroom should it be curtained off from the bedroom? Is a cotton fabric headboard ok or should it be wood?

Thanks for your help.

Having said that, here are are you answers in short form :)

You're right: the foot of the bed should not face the door. It can be on the same wall as the door.

As for colors, without being able to do a full feng shui consultation, i would usually advice home owners to go for darker or warm pastel colors. That way, no specific color is overpowering.

If possible, televisions and other forms of electronics should not be in the bedroom as they can be disruptive to your recuperation process. Yes, keep the cabinet doors closed as often as possible.

Mirrors are also not advised in the bedroom, especially if they reflect your bed.

Try to keep your bathroom doors closed as often as possible.

A solid headboard would be preferred, so wood would be best.

Hope this info helps!

According to Feng Shui practitioners, the foot of the bed should never face the door. This is because that, when people die/died in China, they were traditionally carried out of the room feet first.

My, you have a lot of questions! I would suggest going to the library and checking out a book on the subject. If you believe in this art, there are many factors, such as location of the room, etc., that will make a difference in how you decorate.

I don't believe in Feng Shui myself, except the practitioners/book authors do offer good, solid advice on how to arrange furniture and what NOT to put into a house/room.

I got my book from the library, too!
Good luck!
