I have a Nextel Motorola I415. How do I erase the memory with no stored messeges?

It says, "memory low, erase stored messeges." I do not have any stored messeges. I use the text a lot. I need it right now. Should I buy another sim. Is there a way to erase the history even though it is not stored?
