I have a 1995 Ford Contour GL with a 2.0 liter engine and i was wondering if anyone would know what would make the check engine light come on out of the blue. Its been doing it for 2 days. It turns on and then off. about twice a day. and then yesterday about noon. The check engine light came on and I thought I smelled anti-Freeze and then half way home the light turned off. and then it turned on again going to the gas station then it turned off again. So if u would know what could be making that light come on please let me know thank you.

mine did that when i went through cold air spots. it happened usually when the sun went down and the air was cool by the water. i replaced my air temperature sensor and it went away.
You need to have the car scanned to find a accurate solution to the problem, but it could be a oxygen sensor you might have two or three on this type of car.
