Don't you just love the worthless responses suggesting buying another drive?
When in Windows Explorer, right click the drive and select properties. Under tools, run check disk for errors. It may tell you it will do it on the next boot up. If it reports a choice to convert lost clusters to files, don't. Check what it reports as bad blocks and free space when it completes.

Then go back to the properties and run defrag. If you haven't run it in a while it may take hours, just let it go.

Another possibility is a corrupted, runaway page file. To fix this, right click My computer, select properties. On the advanced tab, system performance, and select to adjust virtual memory. Pick the C: drive, and set both min and max amounts to zero. Reboot, run the check disk for errors utility and defrag again, reboot and reset the pagefile to the previous settings. If you don't use defrag after rebooting, the system will rebuild the pagefile with the same fragmented block allocations that where there before so don't skip this step.

Last but not least, boot to the recovery console and use the "fixmbr" tool. If there are errors in the file location tables, they will be rewritten and may release space that was marked as taken.

Good luck.

Actually the solution would be simply to buy a bigger hard drive and have it installed, they should be able to save all your stuff and put on the new drive and set it up,or to get an external drive that plugs into the USB port for added memory space you can find them fairly cheap just think about how much space you will need and get one a little bigger.

Hi. 20 GB is pretty small for todays machines. A new hard drive is pretty cheap, or an external drive is another option.

other than manually searching out large files or reformatting ... u could mirror ur system onto a new larger harddrive with somthing like acronis true image or nortons ghost ..

Maybe you should also clean up the temp folder, history folder, and cookies under internet tool options.
