Women with colored hair: How often do you shampoo?

I just heard a colorist on one of those make over shows say you shouldn't wash your hair more than twice a week.

Good thing I didn't see the show! I have been coloring my hair for years and wash it every day. My color doesn't wash out, I re-color when it grows out enough to bother me (about every 5 to 6 weeks). My stylist says my hair is in good condition for being colored regularly.

Twice a week? That's nasty. Wash your hair 3-4 times a week. I wash my hair every other day, and condition everyday. I use Garnier Fructis for colored or permed hair. It's more gentle than the regular shampoos, and it enhances the color. If you have blond, black, red, or brunette dyed hair, you can get a color enhancing shampoo from different brands. Sunsilk, John Freida,Herbal Essences, and Pantene all carry those type of shampoos.

I have very very curly hair which i straighten, and i highlight also, and i only wash my hair 2/3 times a week. My hair doesnt even look good until i sleep on it once.

properly, i'm no longer black, yet I wash my hair once per week because if I wash it more suitable frequently it receives dried out, I do come from african descent. yet i in basic terms take care of my hair the way i imagine is ideal. I ward off something which will dry it out.

2 days sounds kind of gross?! But I wash and condition my hair every other day but it is suggested that you use a professional hair-colored treatment shampoo and conditioner.
