How may an individual discover if their identity is associated with " terrorists" and/or criminal activity?

If one is the possessor of a "name" that at this day and age, rings of "terroristic activity" or as a "person of interest" how may they smoothly and without red tape secure a passportt? Would this suspician be reported or seen on one's credit report thereby limiting one's job prospects? If so what alternatives are there?

Please may I have the respect of responses from knowledgeable individuals regarding this dilemma as this will impact the livelihood of an individual. Concerns are not as humorous as one may think...... while answering "off the top of their heads" and thinking "this person must be from another country"....No this is an American...born and raised...in the USA.

In the UK the police may shoot you. You'll not know, but your relatives will learn that you lived close to a suspect. You may even have a tanned complexion and sometimes that enough for PC Plod. Be careful out there.

When dudes in a black van snatch you off of the street and you find your *** in a Jordanian prison with some dude water boarding you.
