My battery in my car is dead. What will happen if I do a trickle charge for 2 hours tommorow before work?
I cannot charge it tonite because there is no room until my parents go work. I will probably wake up around noon and can do the trickle charge then. I have to work at 3. Will a trickle make the battery like new or should I just go buy a new one?

Upon reading this I took the battery out of the car (2000 accord) and plugged it into a trickle in my garage. Thus giving battery ~11hrs charge time. I also noticed that there was a sticker on the battery about a 3yr replacement warranty (Purchased ~jan07) from walmart. Going to go there tommorow to argue my case recieptless. Thanks for the help YA!!
Well, I'd say the wisest thing to do would be to wake up as early as you can and get the charger on the battery as soon as you can. Hopefully, that'll give the battery enough time to charge enough to work again It won't make the battery like new or anything, but it should at least hold a charge long enough for you to get to work, and maybe to an auto parts store where you can have the battery tested and replaced, if needed. There's no point in having a bad battery in your car, especially with winter on the way.
Additionally, I'd consider alternate means of transportation to and from work. Maybe a friend or relative, or public transportation, if practical, just in case the battery doesn't charge, there's not enough time, or it's a different problem all together.
Two hours on a trickle charge isn't enough You need about six hours on a trickle charge, two hours on a fast charge.
I say take the battery out of the vehicle and move it to the charger.
The autostores like Autozone, Pepboys, etc will test for free whether its the battery or if the alternator is going bad and not sending it enough juice.
If your battery is dead because you left the lights on, get up and plug it in the minute your parents leave to charge it.
If your battery is dead because it is old, get a new one.
Get a better charger as well. I have a portable power supply that can inflate tires, jump start cars, test the alternator, and run AC plugs and car lighter plugs. It cost $98.
If you have a trickle charger, put it on the end of an extention cord and let it charge all night but you better look into buying a battery before cold weather sets in or your really going to have trouble this winter.
