When you read a question do you first read the answers or do you answer and then read the answers?
I was answering questions and usually I just hit the answer button after the question, and wondered if others do that too.

I answer the newest questions, so there are no answers yet. By the time I'm done saying my thing, I realize I"m like the eight answer or something! In any event, I think I first say my bit then read what others said about the subject. Some answers are really interesting, and seem so intelligent I would probably hold off answering entirely had I read them in advance. (And there my two points would go...)
It's fun not overthinking it here.

It depends on the topic and how many people have responded. I typically read the answers, because I would hate to come off as though I had no original thoughts. So if my thoughts are already expressed by someone else or a combination of other people....I simply do not even answer the question.

I read the question and scan through the answers to see if at least ONE of them is correct. If there are already 50 answers, I don't add another one unless I feel most of those 50 are missing the mark.

i usually read the first two or three responses before i write, just to not sound the same and sometimes i read answers farther when i feel like being on the opposite side of all the others!!
