Any professional Nissan Techs available? 96 Quest with a 60mA parasitic draw on SEC fuse circuit?
When the 7.5A SEC fuse is removed the draw drops to 10mA, so the former reading sounds excessive. But, of course, if that fuse is out the power windows, door locks, dome lights, etc, quit working. The battery does run down, but is this draw considered normal? If not, have you run into this before, and what usually is the problem? Alldata shows that all these functions go through the same control unit, so it looks difficult if not impossible to separate them.
Any help would be appreciated. I'll trade Toyota help for Nissan help!!
Note to udontremember: It's obvious from your insightful, informative answer why you have that huge 3% best answer rating. The battery is an 800 CCA battery, 2 months old and delivers 825Amps. The charging system puts out over 100 A @ 12V. The terminals are all shiny and clean, as are the ground contacts. Any other ingenious ideas?
