Post-It notes on computer?

Hi all, I'm looking for a software (ideally a widget) that let me write sticky notes (like post-it) alerting me with a sound for reminding.
With the default widget for yahoo I must be connected to the internet in order to store notes but this is sometimes a problem with my mobile, so I would rather prefer something else.
Any ideas?

MS Outlook has sticky notes that you can drag to you desktop. They can be minimized to an icon. No alarms, however (I think).
