HELP!! Halloween Art Activity- 4th Grade?!?

I need something fun and creative for my students to do in art tomorrow. Since Halloween is next week I would like to do something related to that. We don't have a lot of supplies so keep it pretty basic. Thanks so much in advance!

OK. Supplies: brown kraft paper on a roll, vegetable oil and black construction paper.

You cut a silhouette into the black paper (we've used pumpkin carving stencils for this)

Oil the kraft paper lightly to cause it to become transluscent.
Wipe off the excess oil.

Place the silhouette over the oiled paper and hang in window or in front of light to backlight it. It is very cool.

We did this with our homeschooling history program as an art project related to story of westward expansion and settlers using oiled paper windows when they had no glass.

You can also talk about how paper cutting is prevalent in so many cultures and show images of various art pieces, ex. Eastern Europe

Not sure if this will help but you could make a batch of white play doe there are many different recipes online. We made a halloween town. We layed a black garbage bag over the shelf and used some construction paper to make the moon and a pond. Then each child got some playdoe and made items that would be found in a haunted town. Good luck
p.s This ended up being 2 projects because once they dried we got to paint them. We had a pretty good looking display.

They can cut a pumpkin with a creative face out of orange construction paper then glue yellow paper behind it like it's glowing. You could have them use chalk to draw a spooky scene on black paper then ball up some cotton and tuck it in a tissue then have them glue the tissue to the paper (the tissue is the ghost). Print out some halloween book marks that the kids can color ( www.abcteach.com has a lot of free ones)

you could make spiders with an egg carton, black paint, googly eyes or beads, glue, and black pipe cleaners. cut back up the egg carton that you need to apply each and every egg "area" for the spider's body. turn it the incorrect way up and paint it black, then glue on the plastic googly eyes or beads for eyes. On each and every fringe of the spider's body make 4 holes with a hollow puncher. cut back 4 pipe cleaners in 0.5, then stick them contained in the holes you punched and bend them to seem as if legs. i chanced in this idea on line (can't bear in mind the position, in the different case i ought to website the source down below) so i can't take credit for it. i'm attempting it with my kiddos this evening. To make webs for the spiders, squeeze glue onto a sheet of structure paper contained in the progression of an information superhighway, then spread cotton balls thinly over the glue. This one is messy, yet you could make ghosts by portray the bottoms of the toddlers' ft and allowing them to step onto structure paper. Their heel should be the ghost's head. you could entice eyes with an eternal marker or glue on the plastic googly eyes. This seems sturdy on black paper, and also you could beautify the historic past with chalk or white crayons. an excellent straightforward one is to make pumpkins from paper plates. Paint the plates orange, or enable the toddlers glue squares of orange tissue paper or structure paper to cover the plates. cut back out jack o' lantern good factors from black paint and enable them glue them on to layout their own face. Glue on eco-friendly structure paper stems, too. wish this facilitates!
